It has rained during the night. We didn’t worry about that in our dry tents. In the morning Kili is covered with snow, like a farewell present, especially for us. So at last it does exist – the snows on Kilimanjaro! |

Till that moment the mood was really great. Everybody was happy. But this changed immediately as soon as the chief of the agency sat down with the porters to pay out their fees. We recognized that he did not pay what he had promised to at all, sometimes starvation wages indeed. We were deeply affected, realizing that we unintentionally had supported a system of exploitation. We like to learn by that and therefore stress this topic specially. Our tips should give some advice what you can do as a mountaineer against such practices. |
